The NFL Playoff picture is starting to clear up a bit after nine weeks of play in the National Football League. The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles would finish as the one seeds in their respective conferences if the NFL season ended today.
Another oddball aspect of the current standings is that the entire AFC North division would make the NFL Playoffs, a phenomenon made possible by the league expanding to a 14-team postseason format.
The games we’re covering this week feature little to no playoff implications. The ability to spice up a lackluster matchup is what makes NFL betting so crucial. Here are the three NFL games where we’re laying our action in Week 10.
Indianapolis Colts at New England Patriots
Point Spread: Colts -1.5, Patriots +1.5
Moneyline Odds: Colts -125, Patriots +105
Starting out Week 10 with a 9:30 AM kickoff, the New England Patriots will act as the home team in Frankfurt, Germany’s aptly named Frankfurt Stadium when they host the Indianapolis Colts.
2023-24 was expected to be a development season for the Colts as rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson gained in-game experience over a 17-week schedule. That plan was thwarted when Richardson suffered a season-ending shoulder injury.
The Colts are still full of talent, but that’s been the story for a few years now. Gardner Minshew has played respectfully in Richardson’s absence, guiding the Colts to a 4-5 record.
The Patriots are currently 2-7, but just when you think they’re done for good, they pull off a surprise win. New England is 2-7 against the spread this year, and we expect that trend to continue. We don’t feel safe betting on the Patriots so we are going with the Colts covering in Germany Sunday morning.
Atlanta Falcons at Arizona Cardinals
Point Spread: Falcons -1.5, Cardinals +1.5
Moneyline Odds: Falcons -125, Cardinals +105
Sunday afternoon at 4:05 PM, the 4-5 Atlanta Falcons travel to Arizona to face a Cardinals team that is 1-8. The Falcons remain in the hunt for the NFC South title due to the uninspired teams contained therein.
Atlanta is one game behind the New Orleans Saints for the division lead, and one game ahead of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Falcons need the win to keep pace, but we sense a downward trend for the Dirty Birds.
Arizona quarterback Kyler Murray is expected to return to the lineup this Sunday, suddenly making the Cardinals a legitimate offensive threat. We’re betting on the Cardinals to cover against the Falcons.
New York Jets at Las Vegas Raiders
Point Spread: Jets -1.5, Raiders +1.5
Moneyline Odds: Jets -120, Raiders EVEN
Sunday Night Football features a dismal pairing of teams that are on the edge of irrelevance. The New York Jets have shown flashes of brilliance following Aaron Rodgers’ injury and are keeping their heads above water at 4-4.
The Las Vegas Raiders are coming off of a freakish 30-6 win against the New York Giants just one week after replacing their starting quarterback and firing their head coach.
The Raiders are home dogs, but we’re not so sure. We’re betting on the Raiders to cover and keep the fires burning for at least one more week.
